One of the most important things you can do for your health is to visit your doctor at least once a year. Your doctor can help you catch problems early so you can stay healthy.

To make the most of your visit, ask your doctor these 10 questions:

Do I need….

  1. To make changes to my lifestyle (food, exercise, drug and alcohol use, stress)?
  2. To talk about my current medications?
  3. To lower my blood pressure?
  4. Any vaccinations?
  5. To talk about depression?
  6. A blood sugar test?
  7. A screening for colorectal cancer?
  8. A screening for breast cancer?
  9. A screening for cervical cancer?
  10. A dental checkup?

At the end of appointment, make sure you know what to do next. For example, if your doctor says you need to get your blood sugar tested, ask when and where to go for the test.
