If You’re Pregnant
It’s important that you regularly see your doctor during your pregnancy. This is one of the best ways to keep you and your baby healthy. Your doctor can run any necessary tests, adjust your medications as needed, and even give you extra vitamins to help you have a healthy baby. To see what immunizations you may need, click here.
FamilyCare Health has a BabyCare program for expecting moms. Through this program you can sign up for parenthood classes and access other benefits for pregnant women, such as extra vision and dental coverage. Take our BabyCare appointment card with you to all of your prenatal medical and dental appointments and you will qualify for a free gift from FamilyCare Health, such as a stroller or 2 boxes of diapers.
Our maternity service coordinators can help you learn more about this program. They can also connect you to care for other health issues, such as help with addictions or mental health concerns. (Call 800-458-9518 and ask for a maternity service coordinator.) Download the BabyCare booklet and appointment card below.
If You Have a New Baby
OHP will cover your baby until his or her first birthday. After you contact OHP you will receive a new coverage letter listing your baby, and an Oregon Health ID card for your baby. Call OHP Customer Service if you do not receive these.
If you choose FamilyCare Health as your baby’s CCO, we can help you find a doctor for your new baby. We can also help you plan your baby’s circumcision, as needed. Remember, it’s time to schedule a dental appointment for your baby as soon as his or her first tooth appears.
During your post-natal check-ups, ask your doctor about any changes in care you need, such as birth control.
