The Oregon Health Plan can provide you with a ride to and from your covered non-emergency medical appointments. If you are on the Oregon Health Plan’s "MyPlan C," this is a covered benefit and will cost you nothing. You may also bring a helper along with you at no cost, if you need them to assist you with the medical appointment. In certain cases FamilyCare can also help “Standard Plan” members with transportation. Need a Lift transportation is provided for clients who have no other way to get to their medical services.
The Need a Lift benefit is for people on the OHP “MyPlan C” who live in the Tri-County area, Clatsop County, Josephine/Jackson County, and Umatilla/Morrow County. To arrange for a ride, call the number (listed below) for the area you live in. Call as soon as you know that you need a ride to your medical appointment, or if possible, at least 24 hours before your appointment. A navigation services representative will verify your eligibility and request the following information:
If you are calling to schedule a ride for a minor child, the navigation services representative will also need to know the child's personal information and who will be the adult attendant for the child.
The navigation services representative will verify that you are traveling to a covered OHP+ service and that you have no other way to get to your appointment. Same-day rides will be scheduled after verifying with your doctor or medical office that you must be seen that day.
